Not that it matters but probably. Even the white males democrats have appointed in the last 50 years have all been Jewish. Now that Jews are unambiguously as privileged as other whites they won’t they picked as much.

It does matter, most likely. The Democratic Party today is seen as the identity politics party. When Merrick Garland was picked as Scalia's original replacement before Mitch McConnell derailed Obama's election-year pick, he was not well received. He was called "oh another white guy, etc".

Even when Garland was picked as Biden's AG, a lot of activists and leftists said "Oh another white guy", so hell yes, it does matter, when the Democrats are seen as "antiwhite male".....

Every decision the Democratic Party makes on personnel and hiring issues is about race, so Breyer will probably be the last straight white male liberal for a while.......

Biden's SCOTUS picks will be Latina or Black women, or gay/LGBTQ people, etc. A white male would be underwhelming....

If the question is "Will Breyer be the last straight white male Liberal to leave the court?", the answer is obviously no because Roberts is a Liberal when it counts these days.

If the question is "Will Breyer be the last straight white male Liberal appointed by a Democrat?", the answer is probably yes.

Roberts is not a Liberal he voted to affirm Citizens United. He became a maverick because Kennedy walked off the job and catered to Trump so Trump can make the appointment instead of the D

Unless D's packs the Crts, Citizens United is here to state and 10 D's including Durbin, Feinstein and Bennett said they are fine with this Crt that gave Biden the Election

But, if it strikes down HR 1 or DC Statehood it will change in a hurry, but it will not pass til 2023

There remains a bench of qualified white male progressive applicants for judgeships, but while it won't be a bonus for someone appointed by a Democrat to be a white man it won't be disqualifying.

It would also be less urgent, if the court has two women of color and a Jewish woman representing the left-wing arguments.

If Democrats go through with court-packing, I'd also guess that at least one of the judges will be a white guy.

Brandeis, Cardoza, Frankfurter and Ginnsberg all died on the Crt, if history is any guide, Breyer isn't dying on the Crt but the maps are all good for D's thru 2026, we can have the Trifecta until 2026 and then he can retire

He doesn't have a terminal illness he looks well and he will be 90 by then anyways

Nonsense. The answer is absolutely NO. I mean, the last justice nominated by a democratic president was a straight white man (Merrick Garland).

We pretty much know that Bidens first pick - if he gets one - is gonna be a black woman. The next democratic pick after that one could very easily be a straight white male.
