If Gerald Ford lives until November 6, 2006, he will officially be the oldest president at his death, surpassing Ronald Reagan.  Gerald Ford is 93 years old.

I believe Gerald Ford will surpass Ronald Reagan and could possibly get to 95.  I do believe, though, that President George W. Bush will have presided over the deaths of two former presidents by the time he leaves office.

The other two, Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush are in relatively good health and are both 81 years old.  (Bush turned 81 in June and Carter will turn 81 in October).

Does anyone actually know the answer to this question?

I guess so, though.

I heard that former President Ford had a pacemaker put in, and had angioplasty.

That suggests to me that they think he has some life left in him.  Otherwise, I don't think they would have bothered with those procedures.  Also, if he were close to death, those procedures would have killed him.

So I vote that he lives past November, and becomes, historically, the oldest president ever.

I wish him the best of health and the highest quality of life, and when the time comes, I hope it's painless for him.

Ford sets the record, which is interesting, since he was never elected to either of the two highest offices, and I wish him alot of luck in breaking Reagan's record.
