God is giving us an opportunity, let us seize it.

The coronavirus pandemic is soon to end. And with an end comes a golden opportunity for the Southern Region to shine like a freshly polished car. The pandemic has financially, medically, morally, and thoroughly crushed Dixieland. The lives lost trying to fight this virus cannot be understated, both in Arkansas and in the many other states in our region, as well as out in the other two regions. The financial aspects are worth considering too, as many small businesses were forced to close, and many Southerners were unfortunately unemployed. It's not a pretty sight.

However, we can look at this in a half glass full kinda way. While the lives that were ruined and lost over the past year cannot be understated, we can look at this moment and use it. We can think of it as God trying to tell us to reset the way Dixie works. It's time for a Governor who will govern.

I've noticed that a lot of governors fail to realize the power bestowed upon them. A lot of them just sign bills and fill vacancies. This is not the fault of one individual person or party, nor is it something that we should shame them for, but I think that we have the potential to rethink the way the governorship works.

If I were your governor, there would be so many things we could do. We could do everything from establishing mental health boards to improving the region's infrastructure, but we need to govern this crisis. We can't just go buck wild, we still need to protect ourselves, and I hope to actually manage this ungoverned crisis.

In the end, get someone who wants to gets stuff done in the Governor's Mansion. I'll elaborate more on the promises as this campaign goes on. I'll see you at the ballot box, and God bless Atlasia.

KOOPA'S VIRTUAL CAMPAIGN
Virtual Stop #1 - Atlanta, Georgia

Context: As our region has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic, holding in-person rallies has been cancelled to avoid spreading around the disease. To help mitigate this, the KDQ4GOV campaign has made a decision to hold all of its campaign rallies virtually, being streamed lived onto YouTube and Twitch. Each rally shall be filmed in a different place, this one being filmed on the street in Midtown Atlanta. This rally will also be broadcasted live on 11 Alive, an NBC station (call sign WXIA) in Atlanta, GA. The campaign has bought out 15 minutes of space on 11 Alive to broadcast its message. The following transcript shows the abridged version of those 15 minutes.

I'm here in the Midtown, walking down Peachtree Street. This street has been important in Georgia's history. The celebration of the 1995 World Series victory for the Braves, and countless Atlanta landmarks including the Fabulous Fox Theatre, the Georgia-Pacific Tower, the Bank of America Plaza, and 191 Peachtree Tower. However, while Peachtree truly is a wonderful street, it's not the only street in Atlanta, not the only street in Georgia, and not the only street in our region. Some Atlantans live on Wesley Road. Some on Cleveland Avenue. Some on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. Some, in fact, don’t even live on a street as they don’t have a house for a street to be by.

We must care for all Atlantans, no matter what street their home is on. A good way to start is to make this city more affordable.

As governor, we can do better to help the citizens of Atlanta, as well as those who want to live in Atlanta in the future, to get more affordable housing. My administration would issue more housing vouchers across town. I can work with the legislature to issue more of them across the region, including right here. Cooperating with the Chamber as well as Atlanta’s housing authorities, we can subsidize more of the rent that a person or family with a low income may have to pay. As they have to worry less about rent, they can then focus on getting better jobs which will lead to them being able to actually purchase their own home.

That’s just a taste of what I will do to make Atlanta more affordable as we rethink the way government serves the people. Vote for me, Koopa D. Quick, this month if you want a governor who can govern.

Going to be a bit of a downer here, but seeing as how I've essentially been the only one driving activity in the Chamber for the past few months, I have to ask...you have a lot of good ideas covered in these speeches, but why haven't you worked to accomplish any of these ideas while currently in office? I've been begging delegates for months to write legislation, and while I appreciate the one you wrote, I don't really think you're in a good position to be criticizing others activity, especially considering how downhill the Chamber went when you were Speaker. I think there are some valid concerns surrounding your activity and record of actually producing results, so as a voter I'd appreciate more focus on this area.

I completely understand your concern. To give a short and sweet response, part of that is burnout from writing almost all of the bills during the beginning of the previous legislature, but most of why that is is because I've been relatively uninterested in Atlasia due to a lot of the things that happened earlier this year, most notably the February 2020 presidential election. I volunteer to take the blame on that one. However, since that stuff is for the most part in the rear view mirror, I hope to get stuff done in April to clear out this drought. If you have any concerns towards my fitness to hold that position, please watch the next 3 weeks carefully before casting your vote. Thank you for addressing this.
