Freedom move by a terrible governor.

https://www.nbc15.com/2021/02/07/gov-evers-proposes-legalizing-recreational-marijuana-in-wisconsin/

Too bad the WI Republicans are letting the democrats get out in front on this issue. It will be a winning political issue, as it has been nearly everywhere else it's been done. The Tavern Owner's Association isn't going to like this, so it's got nearly zero chance of happening, sadly. But victimless crimes should not be crimes, period.

Yeah, legalize it already. But Vos is an idiot and they won’t even attempt it.

Good for him. The tepid support among politicians for legal weed doesn't make any sense to me given how much public support it has. You'd think it would be a winning issue.

Especially among Republicans. I've seen folks on this board say Kristi Noem's combativeness towards SD voters for legalizing weed will actually benefit her in both a presidential primary & general election.

Considering how many Trump/GOP voters support legal weed now & growing support in states like her own and successful ballot measures for medicinal use in states like Florida/Oklahoma/Mississippi/Utah, I don't get that logic at all

I haven't followed Wisconsin state level politics closely...what makes Evers a terrible governor?

Evers and the D senate nominee should make this a wedge issue. I hate marijuana personally and wish it were banned...but clearly America doesn’t. Let’s at least benefit from the inevitable degeneracy trend in this country.

Nothing, Wisconsin has one of the most corrupt Republican legislatures in America and has hamstrung him since day one. Very similar to Tom Wolf.
