By "the facts" I meant his class status. Contrary to Republican belief, speaking with a drawl and mangling syntax does not make a rich Ivy Leaguer the salt of the earth. Wink

There was a lot of very interesting substance in the Bush/Blair conversation, ....

Such as?

Personally I thought the interesting part was that Bush interrupted Blair incessantly - clear sign he was the dominant party in the relationship.  I suppose I'll never understand why the British insist upon pinning their hopes on the 'special relationship' with the destructive american empire rather than productive and cooperative Europe.  What do they think they get out of it?

There was a lot of very interesting substance in the Bush/Blair conversation, enough substance to be viewed as a very important historical moment if Israel attacks Syria....focusing on his personality or style really misses the point.

While I may not agree that he should be goading others into attacking Syria, I agree with your assesment.  My point wasn't to focus too much on his personality or style (though I still contend that that sort of schtick plays very well in Peoria, so to speak), but rather to point out my disagreement with Modu's assessment that such moments lack value.  In fact, the real value is that it gives us a better idea of his concerns.  Though we are still left guessing about whether Bundeskanzler Merckel will introduce the trade, or whether the US will deal agressively with either the Israelis or Hezbollah.  But even that mystique is of value, since analyses thereof sell ad space in print and broadcast media.
