Safe Portman, DeWine has more to worry about from a hypothetical primary challenge, but even that’s a reach

To be honest, I would rather Jordan had a disastrous six months as OH governor, followed by impeachment by the state legislature - letting him disappear from the political scene in disgrace, rather than remaining a US senator for decades and accruing the seniority to do even more long term damage.

(Also, if anyone could make an OH governor race competitive at this point it's Jim freaking Jordan)

Bold of you to assume that the Ohio State Legislature would impeach and convict a Governor Jim Jordan.

True. But if they don't the damage he'd inevitably do would be on their heads.

You mean like the damage Kris Kobach inflicted on Kansas and led to Governor Laura Kelly? I am not sure Republicans are smart enough to learn from that.
