Sounds about right when you think about. Paint balling for example. It hurts when you first start, but after awhile you become immune to it.

No.  As Vincent said, pain is the way your body says "cut it the hell out."  And it hurts.

Being oversensitive to pain is undesirable, but there's a reason it exists.

Negative. We feel pain for a reason; it is our body's way of telling us that we are damaging it, and should stop whatever is being done. Obviously the existence of pain is a self-defense mechanism to get us to stop whatever is causing it, and we should heed what our bodies are telling us.

Now, in some cases, pain may be the only way to achieve a greater good, and if we know this logically, we should tolerate the pain, but this would have to be known in advance and clearly demonstrable.
