No need to have a parochial school if you have an all-LDS school board. Schools in Mormon-heavy areas (or at least in Utah) usually give the students time to leave campus to go to the church for religious education during the school day. The church has spent its money on locating those buildings close to schools rather than operating a separate school system

Parochial catholic schools exist because the public school system was dominated by protestants and tried to convert catholic students via the public school system.

Mormons in Utah as has been stated, controlled the public school system so there was never that discrimination or exclusion necessitating it.

I live in a country that's overwhelmingly catholic and catholic parochial schools are very much a thing here (in fact I live 2 blocks away from one)

Easy.

Because there aren't many blacks in Utah, and 99.999% of parents who put their children in private (religious) schools is not really for religious reasons, but to get them away from the "dark hordes."

If there is ever an explosion of minorities in Utah--combined with hyper-urbanization of Salt Lake City, you will correspondingly see a blossoming of MORmON K-12 schools.

1000% Truth.

Catholics do have a tradition of education that stretches back to time immemorial in Europe from when they were pretty much the only game in town education wise. It would make sense that such would spread to the Americas in the more heavily Catholic areas anyway.

My previous post was not meant to be exhaustive in a global sense and even in the US there would be a number of such Catholic schools absent the dynamic I described previously, but the number of them is the result of said dynamic.

Touché. Nothing less and nothing more, admittedly, but he really invited my jab.
