there wasnt a preponderance of evidence imo to show that he did what he was alleged of doing so due to that it shouldnt be used a reason to reject him

That's because Republicans refused to further investigate, and Collins went along with that.

The baffling & funny thing about Kavanaugh for me was that he was a republican hack who became politically comprised; there were many other much more skilled conservative justices who he could have been switched for but of course Kennedy had made a deal with the devil & Kavanaugh was part of it.

He worked on the Starr probe, he arranged George Bush's papers & was then parachuted onto the courts. As much as I complained about Gorsuch & even Alito at least they maintain the idea that Justices should be at least arms length from party politics.

On the point about the Lincoln project it's funny how many conservatives, liberals & even progressives fail to understand the point of the group; it is to defeat Trumpism not just Trump. Why on earth would people like Susan Collins act any differently in 2024 when Don Jnr becomes President if there is absolutely no consequence for her failure to hold the Trump to account.

The only way political parties learn is by being beaten & being beaten badly.

Unpopular opinion: Susan Collins's vote for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act 2017 probably impacts my perception of her more negatively than her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh as Associate Justice.

Olympia Snowe’s “Trumpscore” would be over 65% as well

This. The Trump-era GOP is conform or die. Olympia Snowe does not survive 2018; she's either forced out a la Jeff Flake or she loses reelection by taking one too many unpopular party-line votes.

I rather think she would've left the Republican Party (she was actually endangered in her primary 2012 before she chose not to run) and still caucused with them. Wouldn't have cost her election, Maine likes their independents, especially Olympia Snowe (see 2012 polls, she would have likely cruised to reelection). She'd be some kind of Republican Angus King.

In retrospect, this whole ad is over the top and calling her a "Trump stooge" makes it seem hyperbolic.

People on twitter be like "LMAO Susan Collins is CONCERNED what a hack" while people in Maine be like "what are you talking about." Not to mention, a Republican "concerned" with Trump is a sign of independence in this polarized era.

The Lincoln Project was very in touch with twitter, but very out of touch with Maine. For the sake of Democrats' electoral success, they should disappear.
