We have always heard about potential wars for oil, water, minerals, land and very important natural resources. What about coffee? There are alot of people especially in western world who drink coffee quite regularly and daily and use it as something to function modern civilization the same way oil is.

Coffee is also grown in a very few tropic areas in the world. If climate change makes coffee growing harder for whatever (hypothetically) reason, could we see wars over it? Especially since alot of people are addicted to it and need it as a necessity? Or would people change habits to try different caffeine/stimulant beverages

I think long before then, "commodity" coffee could be grown using hydroponic technology. It's also better for the coffee companies, since it allows easier control over their supply chain.

I'm guessing the balance of consumer power would shift towards tea and tea-based beverages. Although a multipolar economic war among Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Vietnam would be interesting to say the least.

Doubtful.  It would be far cheaper to move production to more temperate climes, if the current growing areas become too hot.  Maybe in a century Switzerland will be better known for its coffee than its chocolate.

We've had wars about just about everything else in the past, so why not?

*Ann Coulter voice* We need coffee. Why not go to war just for coffee.

We Swedes sat out fighting the Nazis, but I can assure that we wouldn't hesitate a second to go to war to protect our coffee.
