Is there really any point to having a governor? Unless they just want to turn the mayoralty into a governorship?

I guess the Shadow Senators get appointed to start with, but more established names in Democratic politics who can claim DC residence (Susan Rice etc) run once they come up for a full term?

And surely Bowser just accepts the promotion, without having to even move her office supples!

Is the chief executive of a state required to be recognized as a governor?

Jesse Jackson used to be a shadow rep... would be cool to see him run for it, although he's getting up there.
