Their drug laws aren't THAT lax actually. The laws against hard drugs (non-pot) are quite harsh, and pot is much more restricted than most outsiders seem to think from what I understand. It's not as if you walk around seeing people smoking joints everywhere.

You just reminded me that I have never been to any foreign country other than Canada and that was more than 10 years ago (unless you count DC embassies). And in fact, I have no been to any STATE other than Minnesota and North and South Dakota in over 5 years.

That would be paradisical though - a longer coast line for Germany, and Kiribati and the Maldives saved for the time being.

(Alright, so only parts of the Netherlands would sink. There'd be a chain of islands across the country's eastern shore, a much enlarged Ijssel Sea, and an ever-changing Rhine delta. The eastern part - the part bordering Germany - wouldn't be affected at all, thence no longer coast line for Germany.)
