Bad guys vs. bad guys in civil war, largely. Monarchists vs. Communists. Not fun. Probably the best thing would be to weakly support the Monarch but pressure him like hell to reform.

Believe it or not, Nepalese are primarily Hindu, with only 10% being Buddhist (many of whom are immigrants/refugees from Bhutan). Nepal also has a Muslim minority. It is also the only officially Hindu state on Earth - given that the only other Hindu-majority country on Earth, India, is an officially secular state, that makes sense.

Mt. Everest is half-there. The northern half of Nepal is part of the Himalayas. I think the southern half is largely plains extending from India's Ganges rivier - and it's where most of the people live.

The capital is Kathmandu. That's the only city there I can think of.

By the way, as of a week ago it is not an officially Hindu state. It is now secular.
