Think you're done?  Not with all those freaky variants running around and why do you think you're supposed to get a flu shot every year anyway?

This isn't even confirmed to be needed yet.

That's precisely what the doctor said who had administered Moderna to me on Saturday.

Yes, of course.  Experts are recommending that after this year, that we get one shot a year every year for COVID just like we do with the flu, which makes perfect sense given how many variants keep cropping up.  I have every intention of doing so.

I don't think I'll get the vaccine at all until fall/winter Tongue

I guess the answer is TRUMP!

Unless I'm already at the doctor's office for some reason, this is kinda venturing into overkill territory.

I'm a good citizen and observe all mandated guidelines and ensure I receive ALL vaccinations (COVID really has nothing to do with it.  If there is a vaccine available to me, I voluntarily sign up for it).

But I'm not one of these COVID cucks afraid of their own shadows.

Probably if it's recommended (and especially if I don't get a breakthrough case between now and then).  Vaccines are the one intervention that I really believe helps things.  If 8 months from my 2nd dose is the recommendation, that would put me a couple weeks before Christmas, so it might give my family peace of mind too.

If offered, I’ll take it.

Vaccination is still the only plausible exit strategy to end this pandemic.

Well, given I got the vaccine this summer I definitely underestimated our vaccination capabilities.

In any case I definitely do not plan on getting any booster shots; definitely not any time soon. Time to move me from "TRUMP!" to option #3 I suppose

Personally I'll get one but I don't anticipate qualifying for it for a while. It's not on the top of my priority list but it can't hurt. I signed up to get the 1st shot right away when it became ready but this dose seems less urgent than the others.

Booster shots should be targeted toward the most vulnerable groups until there is better evidence that they are a net benefit to everyone, and should not come at the expense of getting vaccines to to people who have not yet been inoculated.

As a vulnerable, I'm getting one.  I must respectfully disagree that there will be some supply shortage if boosters are given.  Honestly, if someone (other than kids) aren't vaccinated now they're probably not going to get one unless their employer mandates it.  There should be plenty to go around and we should be able to pop into our neighborhood drug store and get boosters (or first timer shots) without appointments.

My doc told me to get the booster ASAP, so I braved Henri to go get it Jersey City. Dan got his upon his return from Santa Fe.

How many months in between your last shot and your booster, Torie?

I have no interest in a booster shot, notwithstanding the Administration's words on this issue. Two shots are enough. If other people want to get one for sake of their own state of mind, that ought to be allowed though. We have vaccines to spare.

5. He was quite worried, and told me the drug store pharmacies don't ask many questions. So the lady who stabbed me added the booster shot to my vax card. No side effects this time at all.

I hear ya.  The independent pharmacy next door to my office will jab anyone with an arm.  I'm only 4 months out but I expect perhaps October I'll mosey next door and get my booster.  Thanks.

I'm not vulnerable, nor a racist, so obviously no.

The world's capacity is booked for this and next year, which means, it's a zero-sum choice. "My" 3rd dose will give me additional 5% defense against death or so, while it will give an additional 90% defense to a human-being in 3rd world's country.

3rd world first!

I don't have any desire to line the pockets of pharmaceutical companies, no.
