Right now, he's the biggest freedom fighter on the planet. After that speech at the White House dinner with Bush just a few spots down, GREAT.

Freedom Fighter, albeit his show simply has not held my interest.

Someone has set up a site to collect thank yous, where you can also watch the video. I had no idea who he was until I saw the video, which was hilarious:

A more appropriate question: "Stephen Colbert: A Great TV host or THE GREATEST TV host?"

Oh, and again, enough with the ING Freedom Fighter or Horrible Person polls - they aren't realistic. I should go back in time and strangle the person who started this crap...

Absolutely the best show on television right now.  It's the Daily Show, except more sarcastic and with interviews that are at least partially interesting.

I agree. I can at least watch the interviews just waiting for Colbert to say things. I watch the Daily Show when I want news with some humorous twists, and I watch Colbert Report when I want humour with some news twists. Smiley And Im still waiting for Holden to be on better know a distrct. Grin Although I must admit, Ed Helms seems to be filling Stephen's shoes pretty well as of late, especially the trailer park rule violation skit, that was great.

It really is odd the way this story was suppressed by the press.

I don't think it was - the radio guys I listen to on the way to work are pretty conservative, and even they commented on it.

I heard the speech on the radio at about 3am from some neohippie FM station.  It was brilliant.  I liked how he didn't back down from being offensive.

He's got a great show, but he completely tanked at the dinner.  Almost no one in the room laughed (except for the nervous and polite variety of laughter) and his reviews were almost unanimously negative.

It really is odd the way this story was suppressed by the press.

The correspondent's dinner hardly ever gets much coverage, regardless of what takes place.

Colbert is funny for about 5 minutes, then he wears on me. Thirty minutes is just too much.
