How do you calculate so-called "tax expenditures" (the 'loss' of revenue attributable to tax preferences) for a given year? I can't find this kind of data online.

What specifically?  Look at the IRC and Treas. Regs for specific issues.

Did you try the Internal Revenue Code or Treasury Regulations?  That's what I meant to say.  I think they're on the CCH website.  You may also want to visit the IRS website and pull up some Publications to spell it out for you better. 

The point I was getting at is there are many methods that change tax liabilities such as a change in accounting method which causes numerous adjustments, changes in depreciation, etc.
