Mar-A-Lago is there, but I don't think he has fully changed his domicile state yet.

If you're asking about the legal aspect of it, DC politicians at any level usually have two addresses in their home state/district and DC since by law they have to live in their home or district.

If you're asking why he changed his address to Florida, it's literally to avoid income taxes and the SDNY.

Basically it's not really his "home state" then. Just to avoid income taxes, not a legit reason.

Because he can't stand the fact that he lost his home state and picked one that is at least somewhat more winnable for him. That's why I want Biden to win Florida so bad though. Not just because he essentially wins the presidency if he does but also because it would embarrass Trump as being the first candidate to lose two different home states (at least to my knowledge).

And the NY AG and the Manhattan DA. If the roles were reversed the GOP certainly would have tried to have him imprisoned based on trumped up charges.

Shoot he could've bought property just outside Houston, TX if he wanted to move to a state that is more winnable for him.

No. We don't want him moving here. Maybe Dallas.

Oh come on, you know if he bought some tacky lakefront McMansion on Lake Houston or Lake Conroe, the MAGAheads in Conroe and Kingwood would be having nonstop boat parades and parties for him. A good time would be had by all.

We already have our Republican President-- George HW Bush. A perfect representative of Houston Republicanism. No need for another.

Oh my god, Montgomery County, TX would love him living there. That's the most Trump loving county in the Greater Houston area.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ever moved there, that he would never set foot in Houston city limits.

That guy is dead though.

Trump doesn't represent a typical Houston area Republican (and their numbers are dwindling), but an Piney Woods East Texan Republican, yes.

I don't get the premise of the question? He very publicly changed his official domicile from Manhattan to Mar-a-Lago last year.

Yeah but I know many people still think he's still based in NY to some extent.

Huh

It doesn't matter what people think? Legally, he's a resident of FL. The only argument as to him supposedly not having "fully moved there" yet is that he's still based out Washington, D.C. for at least the next 5 months.

Not Brazoria or Chambers? I would have thought The Woodlands wouldn't be too Trumpy.

Montgomery County, TX had a % of Trump votes than both of of those counties.

Also The Woodlands is very Trumpy, the rich and preppy kind of Trumpy.

To be honest, in a way I think every sitting president should be forced to register (and vote) in DC, since after all the White House is where they are actually living

If the president and the VP both had to register in DC, that would prevent them from winning DC's electoral votes. (Irrelevant for Republicans but could be a problem for Democrats in close races.)
