My only consolation on that front is that when it comes to actual ability, Trump is more of a Nero or Caligula than a Caesar. While no outcome is certain, if I had to bet, I'd say the single most likely outcome is that he tries to stay in some stupid, ham-handed fashion that then gets backpedaled.

Even if he loses and peacefully leaves office coming January, the damage of politicizing non-partisan institutions like the military, intel agencies, judiciary, FBI & police or the CDC (and many others, you name it) will be long term. This is one way to get the military to turn against one. The Armed Services are scrupulous in staying out of partisan politics. They will not do the dirty work of any political figure or any Party or clique thereof.
