I visited Madonna's birthplace-- Bay City, MI-- over the weekend.

I ate at Beaver's Pub (highly recommend for their perch, Bay City coney dogs, wedge seasoned fries, and dill pickle tartar sauce (and the good service)).

As Bay County voted 50.1-47.1 for Nixon in 1972 and 53.2-40.6 for Trump in 2016, it seems reasonable that Bay City was a McGovern - Trump community, if by the narrowest of margins in both cases.

The city is a bit younger and more female than I would have expected. Also, there's a waterfront park at the site of the spectacular Third Street bridge collapse on June 18, 1976.

Enjoy your summer, everyone.
