   But you have to remember Douglas Wilder in VA, He got elected in a hevaliy Republican Southren State and Ford reminds me of him in a way so I wouldn't say race would play as a big a factor in this.

As much as I hoped he would win for history's sake, not b/c I agree with him (he voted for *all* of Bush's tax cuts IIRC). You can put a fork in him:  TN, with their libertarian, carpetbagging governor, massive cuts in healthcare, and 8.5% grocery tax is now part of Klan Kountry.  Luckily it's population isn't booming (no matter how much they sprawl) like NC, VA, and FL.  It could happen in Virginia, not in Tennessee.  Like that annoying little twit, Tucker Carlson, I'll eat my shoe if Ford wins.
