Good. Isn't looking out for your crew a Captain's main priority? IMO with the Navy higher ups completely ignoring him, he had no choice other than going to the media.

Trump said he fully supported Crozier's removal, though he said, "I didn't make the decision."

"The letter was a five-page letter from a captain, and the letter was all over the place," Trump said. "That's not appropriate."

“I thought it was terrible, what he did, to write a letter. I mean, this isn't a class on literature. This is a captain of a massive ship that's nuclear powered. And he shouldn't be talking that way in a letter,” Trump said.

It was such a stupid black eye for Trump's administration to take.    They could've just dealt with the ship directly so easily and avoided the PR nightmare.

There's absolutely no reason not to reinstate Crozier.

It would be Trump relenting to his opposition and thus his authority, that’s all that is needed for him not to do it.

Similar to the Richard Spencer/Eddie Gallagher case where Trump interjects himself into relatively low-level Navy affairs (this time via Modly) for his own political gain. In this case, an argument could be made Crozier was in the wrong before Modly stepped in. No surprise from the guy who pumped and dumped Mattis and Kelly, mocked prisoners of war, collectively called top generals losers to their faces...

Funny how we never heard these stories when "no respect for the military" Obama was in charge.

Also, another opportunity for me to say I'm a big fan of Richard Spencer.

I am personally just fine with Mr. Trump alienating Navy leadership. More than he already has, that is.
