I have been vocal in thinking we're overreacting due to overestimating the death rate by underestimating the number of asymptomatic carriers.

I've been encouraged by President Trump and Dr. Birx being open to returning to normalcy in the next few weeks.

I seem to be witnessing both extremes honestly. Some of the people I work with (my workplace is essential), think this is not a big deal at all, one guy went as far as saying the Democrats were manipulating the markets to bring down Trump. Corporate takes Coronavirus seriously enough though. Then there's the people that are stocking toilet paper and bottled water.

Me. I go to work and take proper precautions, and then go straight home afterward (which is honestly not all that different than life pre COVID-19 for me honestly).

People are overreacting & underreacting. The experts are pretty clear that we need a pretty strong stay-at-home period to prevent Italy-level disaster & death.

We don't need to be panicking & buying all of the toilet paper, but we should be doing a better job at stopping the transmission of the virus in order to slow the rate to something that our health care system can actually handle.

America is already seeing places like New York running low/out of supplies.

This is all a problem because we don't have good pandemic plans in place with good communication strategies to clearly communicate to the community what needs to happen when. It's stupid because we've had years of experts warning us that we should take this seriously, but instead the world is mostly flying by the seat of their pants & making sh*t up, then finding out on the fly what works & what causes confusion.

Our government is appropriately reacting at the present time but it's not enough to make up for a) underreacting weeks ago and having totally insufficient supplies; and b) idiots going out an acting like everything is normal.

I can't help you if you see hospital workers covering themselves in trash bags and fighting for their lives and their patients' lives despite meager pay with no support from their fellow countrymen or their leaders and you think this is an overreaction. The conditions in New York are extremely comparable to a war zone. Of course I think there should be exceptions for certain more isolated areas. But for everybody else, know this is coming for you and everybody you love.
