"The Obama administration announced Friday that it would significantly scale back the health law’s requirements that new insurance marketplaces verify consumers’ income and health insurance status.
Instead, the federal government will rely more heavily on consumers’ self-reported information until 2015, when it plans to have stronger verification systems in place."

Well, I guess that is one way to square the circle.  Just do not check if you qualify for subsidies and just give it out based on the honor system.  I guess this is really the same thing as delaying the employer mandate.  The regime does not have the organization to deal with the paperwork and checking.  So just do not bother doing it.

Yes, the system was "slowly collapsing" (well said), and is still slowly collapsing. Obamacare just might speed up the process as the systems flaws are better exposed and costs more, more quickly, than would otherwise be the case. So the good news, is that will create more pressure to finally close the circle. Perhaps the third time will be the charm.

Whatever that means. But yes. Obamacare wasn't and couldn't be the comprehensive reform we needed but it is something in the right direction and eventually we will have to figure out what will replace the work for doctor system whether we simply keep steadily going this direction or start from scratch when the system fails.

I am assume that when the "system" finally can't pay its bills that we will basically see a blow for blow repeat of the housing meltdown. It will take a year to feel, then it will happen. Stocks will halve, unemployment will double and it will take two years for anyone to act like a normal rational person again.
