Our great region is in need of a Constitution. WE need one so we can say when gubernatorial elections are and several other measures.

I introduce that all governor elections will be held on a three month basis on the second Friday of the month to Monday.

Every THREE months?  All the other elections are every four...this would make things a little confusing.

Lets link the Gov elections to the midterm Senate elections...April, August, and December.

O.K, every 4 months so we won't confuse the electorate.

As senator for the midwest (at least until the end of this term, then i become a district senator-oh well...), I support the idea iof a constituion.

We have a pioneering spirit in this region, from the original settlers, coming to this land with nothing but hopes and dreams, to the many presidents of our region, to the election of our nations' first governor, Governor ILV, we have pioneered.

We cannot let our region be the last to adopt a constitution. We may not have beent he first, but we will not be the last.

The midwest needs a constituion.

Do you know what the UAC is about?

That's a frivolous position that the UAC aims to... obliterate Tongue

Back to the topic.

All right, that's great.  Unfortunatly, I'm not going to be here this weekend.  Maybe next week?

Also, what do you guys think of a Consitututional Taskforce?  I'll try to make it as multipartisan as possible, of course Smiley  The Taskforce could make an initial draft, then shuttle it over to me... then I could make changes (discussing them with the Taskforce)... then it could go to the general public for minor revisions and a vote?

I don't think the constitution for a region need be that complicated.  One person should be able to write it in an afternoon.  Just look at what some of the other regions have adopted, and use those as a template.

PBrunsel, why don't you just write the constitution, and post it for everyone's approval.   We'll suggest changes if we don't like what you come up with.  I wanted ILV to do this, he is the Governor after all.  His idea is to have a "task force", well I nominate you as the sole member.  Do this, and you pretty much have my vote for the next Governor's race.

So I assume the UAC advocates eliminating John D. Ford's position as Lt. Gov. of the West, too? Smiley

Ahem. The UAC officially believes in the reduction of fantasy government, but we recognise that it is a Governor's right, if they want to, to employ a Lt. Governor.

It is up to the Governor but we do favour decreasing government positions.

Our Conststitution now states that the position of Lt. Governor is in the hands of the Governor.
