The mods have repeatedly said that moderation comes above Atlasia. We've literally had mods invalidate posts in the voting booth before for ToS violations, this is nothing compared to that, and he/she can make 4 more posts it isn't that hard. All of you need to take a chill pill and go outside.

If there are things being done that are not related to enforcing the TOS, we have courts to handle that. If it is within enforcing the TOS, we already had the debate over whether that should be subject to in game consequences, and decided on a bipartisan basis that it should not be. I do not see any use in reopening that discussion, and we have no control over out of game consequences. This thread is pointless and only adds to the division within Atlasia.

If he’s actually doing as LT says and is doing this for non-TOS reasons (I’m not saying I believe LT here, I’d like to see more evidence first) he should not be trusted to be a mod. Putting politics above moderation is stupid, but putting fake politics above moderation is even worse and should disqualify someone from holding this sort of power.

I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear in my original response. If there are actual TOS reasons behind each of these removals, then YE is fine. But should it be clear that one or more are removals to try and stop this person from voting, that is not only stupid, but disqualifying.

LT threatening to get "their mods" involved, inciting a mod revolt. I believe Virginia should consider a ban!

IF YE was really trying to purge posts for political gain, he would have deleted a hell of lot more of the reported ones. He no actioned far more then he deleted from my quick glance, fwiw.

Is this the path the Feds want to take?
Forget it I’m sick of these false arguments.
Your slander of an Atlas mod is sickening and uncharacteristic of Atlasia. I call on all Fedwralists and Laborites alike to push back against LT and his rhetoric.

As it's been said before, the TOS comes before game concerns, even if in specific situation that may not be welcomed by a specific party, person or group.

From personal experience I can say accusing a mod of improper behavior without evidence and simply for upholding the TOS is a remarkably unpleasant and demoralizing situation - and one that I'm grateful to no longer have to face -, and so I would urge people now and in future situations to raise such concerns in an appropiate manner and not to behave irresponsibly.

That aside, if the issue at hand is voter disenfranchisement, it is not going to come in a malicious way from the mod team, for glaringly obvious reasons. If anything, some of the seemingly draconian - and even retrospective - legislative proposals being thrown around are a far more serious concern in that area.

Here's the situation, when you are trying to press the limits of the rules to get people in right before the dead line, there will end up being borderline and questionable posts made in the process of doing that. If it ends up reaching a point where it is being mass reported by people alarmed at these practices, one can be little surprised that the more blatantly spammed posts get deleted.

What that speaks to is not the mods being evil for doing their jobs, it is a system that induces this kind of last minute gold rush where people lose sight of the forum's rules at times just to get that one last vote in.

Maybe the problem is the mass of people taking the time to report inoffensive posts.

Maybe the problem is the mass of people taking the time to report inoffensive posts.

Worth noting that spamming the reporting function can lead to sanctions for such, so there is a check on that abuse though admittedly it is not well stated or advertised. We also do not want to discourage people from reporting legitimately problematic posts and to be honest it is not reasonable to expect everyone to be able to discern a borderline post the right way and in those cases of uncertainty, that is precisely what the moderators are for to make a call.

YE is well known for his restraint and caution when it comes to moderation in comparison to other moderators so the notion that he is engaging in some malfeasance in this regards is I think based on lack of context and presumptions of dishonesty that are not called for here. LT cannot see the mod board, know how many posts are reported and what percentage are no actioned versus deleted. That said, LT and I discussed in the past the importance of not relying on last minute posts that are borderline or even blatant spam.
