It appears that the U.S as a "security measure"  is opening some mail packages from abroad & then resealing them and sending them along the way.

Now I have no problem with mail going through some screening package to make sure that  possible bombs, anthrax, chemicals, etc aren't being smuggled, but going through private people's mail & letters might be a bit much.

Very cool. Though I am a bit afraid the government will discover that I purchased a few books from Germany.

I have no problem with intercepting electronic communication, but I do when it comes to physically opening mail and packages.  However, if they wish to intercept mail which they suspect carries anthrax or explosives before it hits my mailbox, then more power to them.  hahaha

...I am a bit afraid the government will discover that I purchased a few books from Germany.

Why?  Bestiality?

As for the headline posted, Smash, the media bias can be seen in the bolded part:
U.S. Opening Some Private Mail In Terror Fight

Of course such violations of individual rights are the whole point of the phony 'war on terrorism'.  What a useless and unfree press we have if it can't even take note of propaganda.

Ok, good for you. Makes the country better for conservatives. Smiley

You honestly don't think they haven't been doing this sort of thing for years?

Actually after re-counting and such they think that Reagan may have won it against Mondale. (My AP History teacher told us this) Grin

There's an "r" missing from the last word of the thread title.

Yes. I assume you've experienced a water buffalo before?

No, but interestingly one of the worst insults in Thai is to call someone a 'big buffalo' (quai yai).   It is such a perfect insult for the typical fat, sweating, lumbering tourist!

But the reason I thought about bestiality when you mentioned you ordered dirty books from Germany was that everyone I know that has a collection of bestiality porn got most of it from Germany.  I suppose it must be a free-er country than the US.

Oh yes!  I had a friend who had a wonderful collection of the stuff.  The German-sounding background music was hilarious.  Of course in the U.S. he would probably be thrown in jail for 25 years if it were discovered.
