THE MIDEAST: FULFILLING YOUR POTENTIAL

Live from Madison, Wisconsin

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It's a cold night to make a string of policy announcements but at least with nothing else but the cold I'll hopefully grab your attention! It was two months ago now that I announced my candidacy and since then we have seen changes in the Senate and a new Vice President amongst others. Our current Lieutenant Governor Ben has been kind enough to have joined me for this ride and I offer him my sincerest thanks.

I wish to be your Governor. I wish to make the MidEast the safest, cleanest most competitive and the most embracing region in Atlasia. I want every single citizen to have the best opportunities we can allow them, from the middle class kid, to the kids in the inner cities to the farm boys in our rural areas. I want our senior citizens to end their days in security and with a belief that they and their families and neighbours have fulfilled their potential.

So here we are and this is what i'm fighting for.

I wish for a practical economic policy that strives for a balanced budget. It must be one that does not threaten the prosperity of the middle class and those striving to reach the middle class. We cannot run an economy that sacrificies our childrens futures simply in order to balance the books.

I will not punish our children for the economic mistakes that we have made. I propose education reform introducing vocational education side by side academic education. There is no shame in being skilled with your hands as well as with your brain. We need a flexible system that stretches the brightest children and motivates those left behind.

I want to see investment from both business and the government in a comunity based 'skills bank' that will allow graduates and also our retired but still active senior citizens, to invest their educational and vocational skills back into the local community.

Often the local community can do more to help itself than federal or regional government ever can. I wish to see vibrant local communties not just in the suburbs and the small town but also in the inner cities and in the country. I support the promotion of community recycling initiatives in partnership with local and national business and the regional government because our citizens deserve a clean community and I believe that working together will achieve it.

I don't just want to cut crime, I want to kill it, to attack the root causes of crime. I want the government, the police force and the community to work together in tackling crime head on. I want tough laws preserved to keep drugs off our streets and put the dealers in jail. I want petty and juvenile crime to be dealt with forcibly but children and the young are often the silent victims of crime and this must be considered.

I support the rights of the individual. I believe in just and accountable government. I promise to work hard for the MidEast to the benefit of its citizens and not to make any decisions based on short-term reactionary pressure. I know I do not have the same level of experience as my opponents, but experience cannot be bought or gifted, it can only be gained through hard work, through determination during good times and bad. But I believe that the best days are ahead of us, not behind us and with myself Ben; an experienced Lietenant Governor at the helm we can make a difference, we can all fulfill our potential.

Thank you, bless you and Dave Bless Atlasia.

Perhaps we should turn this into a national orginization.

I have been thinking about creating a national orginization that's goals would be on the line of many of this orginization's goals for quite a while.
