"The focus group, according to a source who took part in the testing, ran through varying themes involving Stack and heavily focused on his example of “showing leadership” by halting the sale of assault-style rifles at all of Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in the wake of the high school massacre in Parkland, Fla."

"Those in the group were shown several short videos of other candidates including Biden, Warren and former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz — a fellow billionaire who explored a presidential bid as an independent before announcing in September that he would not run — but viewed eight or nine videos that included Stack messaging, according to a focus group participant."

Trump really encouraged a lot of CEOs to consider running. Steyer who is actually running, plus Bloomberg, Zuckerberg, the Starbucks guy, and this guy. Sure, we had Steve Forbes run in 1996 and 2000, and Wilkie get the Republican nomination in 1944, but this is just out of hand.

If he didn't halt the sale of some guns in his stores, I think he might actually have had a (no pun intended) shot at getting 1% or so. Since that didn't happen, he will have no appeal whatsoever, maybe only to the "Never Trump Republican" voting bloc that will inevitably end up refusing to vote for the Democrat also.
