I think each region having a slightly different system is a good thing, be it just naming conventions or an alternate electoral system. However, I would note that each region, changing to the same thing, would negate that benefit just as if they had all remained the same.

At the same time I would note that the present system nationally balancing region and federal representation and such best lends itself to the success of such differentiation. However if the federal system were altered in a way that lent itself to concentration or consolidation of power in Nyman, it would undermine these novelties at the regional level.

The proposed platform does not advocate for Lincoln to change to a Fremont-esque system, in any case. Government reform proved succesful in Fremont, and alternatives need to be explored in Lincoln to make it both different and efficient.

I agree completely, and I am glad the regional party system is serving as a vehicle for that. The restoration of the regional level parties was a suggestion by former Senator/Governor Jbrase during my first campaign for President and it was one of the few successful initiatives to result from that otherwise disappointing partial term in office (long story involving tied election and an inactive Congress). It also illustrates that the power of positive suggestion can be more effective than force of fiat, since I merely encouraged the three regions to do this and eventually they all did.

Given that the chair of this party is now vacant, I move to declare it vacant and assume the chair, existing party members have 24 hours to object.

(before people accuse me of bumping an old thread, this is for the regional elections)

This motion has succeeded, and I am now chair. I also declare that we will contest the regional elections, though we may choose to withdraw from some to provide liberal consolidation if needed.

Ad: Partisan Games and Illegal Profits, to air until Election Day in Illinois

Narrator: We've seen what happened with the last two right-wing governments in Illinois.

Narrator: The most recent right wing governor had a budget standoff with the state legislature from 2015-16, putting partisan politics over our priorities here in Illinois, including funding education and transportation.

https://www.itdp.org/2019/05/23/high-cost-transportation-united-states/

Narrator: They put partisan games before the needs of Illinois.

Narrator: The right-wing governor before them went to prison following an investigation of illegally selling government licenses and leases while serving as Secretary of State during the 1990's.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/show-us-the-money-cash-is-the-coronavirus-vaccine-we-need-now-2020-03-19

Narrator: Seeking to illegally line their own profits at our expense.

Narrator: Putting partisan games and illegal profits before the people of Illinois, that's the real Illinois right-wing! Why would we ever choose to send them back to Springfield?
