I'm noW the longest chief justice Atlasia ever had since its beginning (2004), I have been Chief Justice for almost 3 years now!!!!

I'm perfectly aware that the Supreme Court is something quite obscure for the current players of this simulation so maybe I should use this occasion to bring details about how the Supreme Court works? In an interview or in a "Ask me anything about the supreme court" thread perhaps?

The Supreme Court is by far the most obscure part of Atlasia's government so we'd gladly listen to more explanations!

Trying to get some questions out:

Would you rather have more court cases? The Supreme Court only sees like 3 cases a year on average after all

Favourite court case?

How do deliberations between judges work? After all there is no information about them in the case threads

What's your opinion about the Supreme Court being to a large extent a "comfy retirement position"?

And of course feel free to tell us more about the third forgotten branch of Atlasia Cheesy

Usually by PM.

As, I believe, the oldest continuously registered Atlasian, and as probably the only veteran of every Constitutional Convention we've ever had, this pleases me Smiley

Sorry for the delay, I was extremely busy.

Oh definitely, I miss BK and Ben Kenobi being active. It makes the game much more interesting.

BaconKing vs Rpryor, probably the most court case since I'm a Justice because I was able to outline my constitutional beliefs: a limited role of the Supreme Court (with massive power basically given to the officeholders) and a strict respect of the constitution (not ignoring part of the constitution when it's "convenient" or rewriting the meaning of it).

Usually a Justice PMs the rest of the Justices about this case. We first decide if we take or not. If we take the case, we deliberate by PMs.

It's a very good thing. Less involved the Supreme Court Justices are, more likely they are not to be influenced by what is going in the game.

Any other questions? Like about the "political" "judicial" positions about the current Justices? Smiley

And btw,
I really would like some court cases on abortion. The previous rulings were based on the third constitution and can't apply anymore as the clause is no longer part of the constitution.

This is the main point I try to stress about the nature of past rulings possibly being carried over. Many of those rulings were based on passages of the Constitution that were present in the Third but not necessarily in the fourth Constitution. It seems to come back up regularly on Discord every so often.
