In my humble opinion, he is more likely to seek the Governorship of or a Senate seat from his home state.

ive heard he is interested in running for john kerry's senate seat in 2008.  kerry, if he runs for the presidency again, will likely retire from the senate, since massachusetts law will not permit him to appear on the ballot for both president and senate.

however, card would probably have a hard time winning even an open seat in the ma.

he could be competitive in a governor's race.

The only possible exception is Rice.  Or Ridge, but he is not in administration anymore.

That's called: "shortsighted".

For all we know, Bush's approval rating could be 65% in a year and there'll be a move to repeal the Twenty-second.

I use the lessons of history as how to view the President's current dilema (sp?)

Most Presidents have had a bad start in their first two years in office. These included FDR, Truman, and Ike.

I hope not. Full of cack-handed incompetence top to bottom

While I like Andrew, he won't run.  He has always been more of the support leader than the big kahuna, and is quite comfortable in that role.

About as qualified as Liz Dole was in 2000, and with none of the name recognition.

Progress, we don't need to bet on it, I doubt he'll be at 65 a year from now.  I'm just saying it's useless to say no Cabinet official will win the GOP nomination when events can change in an instant.

He could turn into the next Erskine Bowles constantly running for Senate.  But I like Card, he doesn't seem like a bad guy.
