Bacon King

Stalin/Lenin: 514 EVs, 59% PV
Bag/Gloves: 24 EVs, 40% PV

Joseph Stalin runs as a Republican and the only state that actually notices is Illinois, although he does become the first Republican not to break 60%, likely due to the scandal on him (which probably was that he's, you know, Joseph Stalin).

Ilikeverin

Ilikeverin/Dayton: 499 EVs, 61% PV
Bag/Gloves: 39 EVs, 38% PV

It looked like Ilikeverin was going to tie for first for EV count, but in major upsets on Election Day that came out of absolutely nowhere, Bag won South Dakota and Florida, dooming Ilikeverin's hopes.

FezzyFestoon

Festoon/Blank: 535 EVs, 64% PV
Bag/Gloves: 3 EVs, 35% PV

The usual.

Jake

Nichols/Ashcroft: 521 EVs, 61% PV
Bag/Gloves: 17 EVs, 38% PV

Alaska had something against Nichols for pretty much the entire campaign.  It started in Bag's column and stayed there like a rock.

And that's a wrap!  The preliminaries for the APFC are over.

Here are the final results:

Democrats

1st   nini2287 - 529 EVs (63% PV)
2nd   Peter Bell - 529 EVs (63% PV)
3rd   Max Power - 529 EVs (61% PV)
4th   Cosmo Kramer - 528 EVs
5th   Speed of Sound - 521 EVs (62% PV)
6th   Hughento - 521 EVs (61% PV)
7th   Jake - 521 EVs (61% PV)
8th   Sam Spade - 520 EVs
9th   afleitch - 516 EVs
10th   Blerpiez - 515 EVs
11th   Gabu - 510 EVs
12th   Ilikeverin - 499 EVs

Republicans

1st   Mr. Hobbes - 535 EVs (67% PV)
2nd   TheWildCard - 535 EVs (64% PV)
3rd   AndrewBerger - 535 EVs (64% PV)
4th   htmldon - 535 EVs (64% PV)
5th   FezzyFestoon - 535 EVs (64% PV)
6th   True Independent - 535 EVs (63% PV)
7th   Mike Naso - 535 EVs (62% PV)
8th   Josh22 - 535 EVs (62% PV)
9th   Emsworth - 528 EVs
10th   Bacon King - 514 EVs
11th   PBrunsel - 513 EVs
12th   DanielX - 480 EVs

That's it for today.  I'll leave it here to allow everyone to examine the results and to let it sink in before I start Round 1.

Note that I could do tiebreakers, but I don't feel like it because it doesn't really matter.  Everyone's going to have to play against everyone else at some point in time, and if someone gets eliminated earlier, they would probably have been eliminated later, too.

If anyone harshly protests, I'll do the tiebreakers.

Looks good, though this probably proves with argument that issues matter very little in this game Tongue. Thanks for doing these though.

I wouldn't actually be so sure; I ran Cosmo Kramer against Emsworth just to see what would happen and Kramer did abnormally well in the South while Emsworth did abnormally well in New England.  I think that issues stop mattering only when the other guy is a totally horrible candidate such as Punching Bag.  In that case, it's pretty much the luck of the draw with regards to what happens.

Of course, in a real game, they don't matter that much because they pale in comparison to the effects of scandals and attack ads and such; however, these things are not as prevalent when the computer is duking it out with itself.

I'm kind of curious about the lack of response from most of the competitors. Tongue  Are you all just waiting for Round 1?

It's time for the power populist from the South...

Cosmo Kramer

Kramer/Bayh: 528 EVs, 61% PV
Bag/Gloves: 10 EVs, 37% PV

Idaho and Wyoming fell to Kramer's appeal, but alas, Utah was not to be.
I lost William Jennings Bryan's home state.  Sad

Not quite sure why, but Nebraska was consistently one of the hardest states for a Democrat to win.

Sam Spade

Anderson/Richardson: 520 EVs, 62% PV
Bag/Gloves: 18 EVs, 36% PV

Don't really know why Anderson lost Colorado.  His victory in Wyoming makes him the first Democrat to put one of the Mormon Triangle states in the Democratic column.

I don't know why I lost Colorado either.

Hughento

Bartlett/Benalcazar: 521 EVs, 61% PV
Bag/Gloves: 17 EVs, 38% PV

The Mormon Triangle is proving to be a tough nut to crack.

3, fine. Losing a whole 4 states? Sad

Why doesn't Utah like me, Gabu? Why?! *Starts sobbing*
