https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/12/us/united-states-citizenship-immigration-uscis.html

Quote
Agency officials said the move was intended to provide more staff resources to handle the lengthy backlog in asylum applications from tens of thousands of migrants crossing the southern border every month. But it could come at the expense of legal migration, which President Trump has said he favors: Some agency staff members said closing overseas offices will make it more difficult and time-consuming to apply to immigrate from abroad, especially for refugees already in the United States who hope to bring other family members to join them.

“This is another instance of the Trump administration halting legal immigration by denying people the opportunity to file for immigration benefits in the most expedient manner,” said Margaret Stock, a retired United States Army lieutenant colonel and an immigration attorney who frequently handles such cases.

Seriously, f*** this racist POS. As someone who has been following the changes to immigration and has a personal stake in this issue, I can attest to the idea that, if anything, this article is underselling just how awful this administration is to immigrants, and it should be obvious to any intellectually honest person why immigration is being changed.

When your former advisor on the matter was Steve Bannon and your current is Stephen Miller, we don't have to guess what you really think about legal immigration.

Trump surrounds himself with virulent racists.

Trump surrounds himself with virulent racists.

Ideologically, Steve Bannon is basically me. Not racist at all.

Japanese internment was absolutely a defensible measure. The fact that history has shown it was probably unnecessary is irrelevant.

 Um, think again.

It's rare that I see Xingkurei get this upset, so that ought to show what a d*** move this is. I don't blame him, by the way.
