So now any hint of getting along with a Republican, no matter how moderate, is heresy?

He basically endorsed him in the middle of a campaign to win back the House.

Delivering a speech for a five zeros figure? Can't possibly hurt him when he runs!

If he had praised Upton’s niece, that would be another story.

"Moderate" Congressional Republicans don't exist.

Upton has been my Rep for my entire life, he's not some ultraconservative Freedom Caucus guy.

Biden would be wise not to run; it should be obvious that his campaign would quickly crash and he wouldn't perform well in the primaries.

Why is this obvious?

Why would he continue to give paid speeches if he intended to run knowing Hillary was crucified for doing the same exact thing in 2016?

This.

It's not the speech itself that hurts him the most (and it hurts him), he get 200k for it. Unbeleivable decision.

For a lot of us, the issue is how much money he got for the speech.

Biden 2020 will be a more senile, foot-perpetually-in-mouth version of Hillary 2016. Hopefully it's enough to knock him out of the primaries early.

Ridiculous hot take that enjoys way too much prominence.

Anyone who didn't support Clinton for her speeches and who would even consider voting for Biden in the primary deserves to step on a Lego block.

Accepting $200,000 before doing it certainly is.

This is such a dumb article.  Biden was merely demonstrating how bipartisan he can be.

Yes, that's why it's bad.

This is clearly better than having a partisan hack.

Just going to clear this up.

The main problem isnt that he gave a speech for a Republican(even though that is a considerable part of the anger), but that he gave such a speech in return for $200,000. Basically, it gives the *rightful* idea that Biden sold out a Democrat to support a Republican.

And I'll say this again, if it really is this easy to find controversy and problems with Biden, his chances at winning the nomination diminish.
