This has become necessary as there have been reports of some individuals attempting to lay claim to the state of Alaska and declare its "independence" from the region and nation. While no acts of violence have been carried out yet in pursuit of the secession effort, there is a reported 5,000-person army currently stationed in Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks. Fremont must be prepared for any potential revolt against our region, and all options (military and legal) must be on the table.
