The President-elect of the United States was, to say the least, very excited. Hailing from the state of California, he had expected a close race and close it was. His opponents had put up a strong battle, both in the primary and the general, but now, it was his time. After 2004. After 2008. Now, here he was, elected the 44th President of the United States, winning 282 Electoral Votes to his opponent's 256. It was the closest election since 2004, when the newly elected President had been an active participant in the campaigning of.

But now, here he was, ready to give his victory speech at 2:47 AM after receiving the phone call from the Governor, his opponent, congratulating him on history. For a time, he briefly wondered what history would be like if the 1970 Midterms didn't go the way they did, if Spiro Agnew's corruption wasn't found out in 1971, if Richard Nixon wasn't assassinated in Early '72. If Edward Brooke didn't become President when he did.

But that was neither here, nor there. Right now was his moment, his victory. He wasn't going to let the memories of the past take that away from him.

Hello and Welcome to a TL that I have actually thought out quite a bit for, where we head all the back to 1970 and flip a few things. Now, we will be going from the alt results of the 1970 midterms and Spiro's corruption forward to the present day, where we are seeing the 44th President win and take office. Feel free to place guesses as to who the race is between and who the winner is and if you guess correctly, I'll give you a PM congratulating you. Until then, stick around and enjoy the show as I do this and my Star Wars AU Fic Series. Ciao!
