Stacey Abrams ran a more progressive campaign in a red state and came closer to winning. So what rationale is there for hyping Beto and not talking about Abrams running for President, other than cultural biases conscious or unconscious?

Does a junior member of the House of Representatives really have less experience than the minority leader in a state legislative body?  Abrams was intimately involved in articulating the Democratic position on pending legislation and working with the Republican majority and governor on every issue, I'd say that makes her like, maybe 50% as experienced as a governor?

As a three-term Congressman Beto ran no major committees and just took party-line votes 99% of the time.

NONE OF THE ABOVE is the correct answer.  (and I bet most Beto fans are also Abrams fans ... and vice versa).

I was and still am an Abrams fan (and have often said had she won the Gov race- she would be a great VP pick).
... so why not President:

A Bit of the expectation game... Georgia is much more winable than Texas- so the loss was more of a detriment to Abrams being a viable Presidential candidate. (Where as winning Texas was never much of an option or even really vague expectation).

Abrams has never been: Senator, Congresswoman, Governor, or Big City Mayor (which tends to be the list ppl draw from).

But the #1 Reason..... Abrams herself has NO interest in seeking the Presidential nomination in 2020.

There are many legitimate arguments you could make but you choose to draw the race card and cite one of those neoliberal twitter robot people. I'm not a BetoBro, but if I was I wouldn't be persuaded by you.

This one is a much better argument. Honestly I don't think either are good for 2020. Abrams knows it, while Beto is stuck either going for it all now or making another underdog run for higher office against "Big John".

Because Beto does cool stuff like jam with Willie Nelson and skateboard in restaurant parking lots. He is much more charismatic and exciting and cooler than Abrams. He's also better looking (sorry, it's shallow but undeniably true, and a factor in elections).
