Right. I'm most grateful for the concern and/or the well wishes, and appreciate them a lot. I just returned online after this sudden break and have struggled to properly explain the situation without invoking wrong emotions such as self-pity, which I'd like to avoid. To make a very long (and very personal) story short, things just don't seem to be working out regarding my depression no matter how hard I try.

As some of you know or have realized by now, for the past two years I seem to be having these brief moments of improvement which have energized me enough to run a complex game for some time, but once things inevitably start to go wrong again in RL I end up hitting a mental wall of sorts that makes mustering the necessary energy for updates - as it takes so many hours - difficult. Unsurpringly, the start of the time lag problems here is very much associated with personal situations which I obviously haven't managed to find solutions for yet.

I have actually been reflecting on whether I should really be hosting games given that context, and even after five days I could not reach a satisfactory answer. Trust me, it's heavily frustrating for me as well, but a final decision is coming either way.

I feel ya. I get in that state a lot too. I know how hard it can get to do anything, much less do a complex write up for a game. You just gotta do what ya gotta do. I won't hold any ill will towards ya if you decide to end the game, and I'm sure none of the other folks will ether. Stay strong dude.

I realize I don't know you; like at all, but I just wanted to say if you aren't finding playing these games to be a fun hobby and it's causing you stress, don't do it! You don't owe any of us anything man. So put your own mental health and self first. It's quite alright, we'll make due! Or maybe that's the issue, and you should step away from moderating for a while (and it looks like you've been doing an amazing job!) and just play the games for a bit?

Any way, just wanted to say I've been there too. But do whatever is going to be best for you. : )

I confess defeat, much as I try I can't seem to make it work, and the many distractions of RL just make it impossible to focus or to make the necessary energy investment, so I will have to step aside and suspend this.

I'll be saving all of the orders, maps, research and outlines just in case the possibility of reviving the game comes up - and so all the collective hard work of all does not go away -, and I strongly encourage those thinking or planning to host a strategy game of their own to do so, I think the board would benefit from it and I myself would be honored if allowed to play.
