Trump told the New York Post that he hasn’t heard anything from a 2020 hopeful that worries him, and welcomed some of his potential challengers. “Fear? Fear? Do you mean fear or dream about?” he asked the Post. “I dream about them. So far, everyone that I’ve seen I’m dreaming about.”

Trump said he knew Gillibrand, who took over Hillary Clinton’s seat in the Senate in 2009 after representing an upstate district in the House, “very well” because he had donated to her “early on.” “She’s the only person I’ve ever seen who loved guns more than any human being on earth when she was a congresswoman from upstate New York back then,” the president said. “She loved guns more than any person, anywhere in the United States. The day she announced she was running for the Senate. All of the sudden, ‘Gun? I’ve never heard that word before.’” “She’s not going to make it, she’s not going to make it,” Trump predicted.

Booker is similarly not a threat to Trump’s reelection, he said. “He ran Newark into the ground. He did such a bad job in Newark that he didn’t live there. No, he’s not going to be a problem.”

Bloomberg has yet to announce whether he’ll throw his hat in the ring, but Trump had a trademark nickname for the former mayor at the ready. “I’d love to run against Little Michael,” Trump said, noting that Bloomberg has poured money into causes and candidates in opposition to the president.

The only possible candidate Trump had nice words for was the one who had said he would not run. “I have a good relationship with him,” Trump said of Cuomo, who has been sharply critical of the president. “I like him. He likes me.”

Trump is going to endure a smackdown in his own state (New York) that even George McGovern did not endure in 1972 and Landon did not endure in Kansas in 1936. The more that people know him, the less they like him, and few know him better than New Yorkers.

Trump need concern himself with potential opponents not from New York, Connecticut, and New jersey as well.

Trump did slightly better than Romney in New York against a former senator from New York. He obviously won’t win the state and it doesn’t really matter how much he loses it by, but he is likely to overperform what he ‘should’ do in New York once again - he still has a decent base of popularity there from his days as an entertainment mogul.

Pretty much all New York politicians are corrupt: Cuomo, Schumer, Gillibrand, Jeffries, Crowley, the list never ends.  Booker is probably the only one in that group that is a good person overall, but he's so right-wing on economic issues, that a Booker presidency after 4 years of Trump's pro-rich people policies, would be a disaster for the country.

As for Gillibrand if people learn more about her and how corrupt she is, she would lose even the little support she has at the moment.
