The most recent and reliable MU poll indicates voters will split tickets between Walker and Baldwin, which I just cannot wrap my head around. I can't think of two dramatically opposed candidates, especially in a very polarized political era. Evers is still leading among independents, but not nearly as much as Baldwin, and she even has some Republican support according to the latest MU poll. My state hasn't split tickets in years.

I certainly doubt that Evers will trail her by more than 10 points or so, but we'll see. Ultimately these "candidate carrying another candidate over the finish line" narratives are overrated. What usually happens is that a partisan tide lifts all boats.

If Baldwin is winning by anything more than 5, it's hard to see Walker also winning. Last time different parties won the gubernatorial race and senate race in Wisconsin was 1998 with Thompson and Feingold. Times have changed, Walker probably doesn't have the popularity to survive a wave.

I generally agree with this, though I think it's conceivable that Baldwin could win by 6 or 7 while Walker just barely ekes out a win. If she's winning by double digits, though, Walker's almost definitely going down.

Thanks for the answers, guys. I just have a hard time envisioning a bunch of Walker-Baldwin voters, but we'll see.

Huh?

Walker is basically Harper 2.0

2010 WI = 2006 CDN : Both Harper and Walker who were once viewed as too right wing to win in a progressive nation/state win but defeat an unpopular center left party to win

2012 WI = 2008 CDN : The left I’m both cases tried to take down both Harper And Walker before their terms ended but both failed

2014 WI = 2011 CDN : Both Harper and Walker win big and win a pretty big mandate

2018 WI = 2015 CDN : Both Harper and Walker started out as the favorite but became the underdog as Election Day neared

There are more similarities as well

Here in WI, we're doing everything we can to prevent that from happening.
