So, is anyone here considering becoming a journalist?

A Trump effect at journalism schools? Colleges see a surge in admissions.

How about a new generation of uninspiring journalists.

Even your average person on the street is aware of how insulting the news has become.

The problem with this is that there are so few jobs. Well... it's probably different now. I considered it when I graduated in 2008, as I would take any job my education applied to, and I did have writing and journalistic experience. But with the internet already cutting into news circulation, there just weren't any jobs for those who wanted to go into journalism. My understanding is that news corps have continued to contract, narrowing the already narrow market for new journalists. But hey, maybe things have changed.

Thus feeding into a sense of disenfranchisement as more students leave college without job prospects, creating a vicious spiral. Sad
