According to Trump, his worst mistake ever was . . . .
condemning white supremacists and neo-nazis in a speech after C-ville

Condemning your own base would generally be a mistake, yes.

He's right. His base are the white nationalist, nazis and white males that support them.

No, he said the speech was the biggest mistake. You know, the one liberals didn't like. He's agreeing with you. But then y'all are so determined to paint him as prejudiced you'd claim 2 + 2 = 5.

Also, of note regarding his Russia testimony, the book claims that in his moment of truth, Trump said the thing was "a hoax." As a private conversation in a moment of exasperation, it validates the notion that there was no collusion, at least not by Trump personally.

The worst quote to come out of this is actually Trump's "dumb southerner" line. Here he is insulting the biggest region of the country. That could really hurt him if people believe he said it. But since liberals are so obsessed with racial agitation they probably won't make too much hay about it.

If Trump considered his "both sides" speech a mistake, why did he double down on it in the press conference a few days later?

Maybe he didn't realize it was a mistake until after that.

Um, hello?

I said in the post that it's his speech that he thinks is his worst mistake ever.

He had a statement that said "both sides do it." His speech, on the other hand, a few days later, was out of demand that he come out harder against Neo-Nazis. It's the anti-Nazi speech that he views as a mistake... not his initial "both sides do it" statements.

You have to excuse Beet. He’s like the Ozzy Osbourne of Atlas. He never knows what the hell is going on, always talks some absolute nonsense, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he shuffles around incomprehensibly yelling “SHARON!”

No, read it again before you accuse me of being Ozzy Osbourne.

After Trump said “both sides” at the Charlottesville white supremacist rally were to blame for the violence that occurred in August 2017, advisers urged him to make another speech condemning white supremacists and neo-Nazis. According to Woodward, he almost immediately told aides, “That was the biggest ing mistake I’ve made” and the “worst speech I’ve ever given.”

There were two speeches. Advisers urged him to make another speech after his original one where he said "both sides" do it. His response to his aides was that the first speech was his biggest mistake. Otherwise, what does the phrase "almost immediately" mean? Almost immediately after what? Either way, if I'm wrong on this one it's because of a piss-poor written summary on the link you provided and not due to any fault of my own.

Him fertilizing his mother's egg as a sperm was the biggest mistake he ever made.
