It's not a matter of people know or even caring who the chair is, it's about resources and fundraising. State parties do a lot for maintaining and building infrastructure. Ward will double down on going in an extremely right-wing direction and that strategy won't help reel Republicans that crossed over last year back in. She might even clash with candidates.

Like people will even know who the GOP chair of AZ is lol.

Matha will win reelection is 2020 is anything but a D+4 year and lose if anything is more than that

If any state party chair could have name recognition, it's the state party chair involved in two statewide primaries.

She will be tied more to Trump than Ward.

So if Trump wins she will win regardless of Ward

This is no doubt a crappy decision but it’s impact is probably overstated.

Hopefully this will narrow the annoying PVI gap between Arizona and Nevada

Sinema 2018 = Kaine 2005
This seals the deal. The state party could now very well support a primary challenge to McSally.

Wow, is the AZ GOP going to hand the Democrats two Senate seats and Arizona's 11 electoral votes in just two years? That's just too kind of them.

All joking aside, how big of a deal is the state chair of a party? Can she influence a possible primary challenge to McSally? Because IMO, if shes renominated the race starts as a TU, but if Ward can get someone to run and win its Lean D.

It doesn't matter to the voters at all but if candidates know Ward is hostile to McSally there isn't a fear of being ostracized and committing political suicide by challenging the incumbent.

This will impact strategy and fundraising. Ward is a scorched earth type campaigner, as was mcsally, a loosing strategy in our very urban state. Ward will likely want to double down on this type of campaigning up and down the ballot

Big time republican strategist are already admitting the big time donors won’t donate with nutty Kelli leading the party.

Kelli Ward is about the only person in politics I would believe is actually a George Soros-funded plant.

If you'll be losing a state, may as well lose it quick to focus on something else.
