Right.

Recent discovery that the Game Moderator is vested with statutory authority under Section 6 of the Game Moderator Reform Act (which may be read here) to "kill an active citizen" with their consent, which preceded by minutes the publication of a non-canonical bulletin reporting the death of the former senator from Fremont, it now appears necessary that I offer some clarification regarding my position on what I am calling, the "Death Clause" and the chain of command within the game engine.

I. Thou shalt have no other other gods before Me. Unless a story has been written or approved by me, it is heterodox from the perspective of the game engine and should not be considered canon. The deputy game moderator does not possess the statutory authority to publish stories without the blessing of the Game Moderator. If you as a player want to do something that requires GM approval, you need to come through me.

II. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. I am sympathetic to the frustration and disillusionment that many are feeling and have felt in recent months, but ultimately, the game engine does not exist to recycle memes or grant the momentary passions of the polity. Killing off a citizen is not a prospect I take lightly, and as much as I think some of you definitely deserve it, I'm not going to start smiting people all over the place as a remedy for boredom.

When the prospect was raised on Discord earlier this evening, I was open to the possibility of using Section 6 as a way to resolve a particular difficulty; but reflecting on it further, I don't think this should become a work-around for Congress' inability to pass a de-registration law, unless and until such would be of some benefit to the game.

Also, duels are stupid. I get that people who want to leave the game don't really have an alternative right now, but the knock-off parlors in particular are boring and unfunny. Try harder.

In closing, since I haven't had much opportunity to say this publicly, sincere thanks to Deputy GM 1184AZ for his hard work and initiative in the last few weeks.

The Court has not ruled that a citizen can't deregister yet. So we could continue to do what has been done and deregister, and wait and see if the court will force citizens name to be put back on the voters list.

Thank you for being the voice of Reason, Poirot, this is exactly what I have been saying. People are going crazy over an opinion which has not been legally backed by the Court yet, precedent should be all in this situation.

The problem is that their are conflicting rulings.

The RG is acting according to your reasoning.

On the other hand, the government of Lincoln has been operating its affairs under the opposite logic, canceling an election because Wells was "still in office".

People who want a surefire way of leaving are thus doing this.
