First of all, this is unlikely to trouble those media filled with Trump cultists -- such as FoX News Channel, let alone Breitbart.

Second, this simply loads more cause for contempt for the President who have already given up on him (as polls measure it, "disapproval", let alone "strong disapproval"). People who dislike his policies on taxes, immigration, privatization, foreign policy, and the environment simply have more cause to despise this President.

Third, one can now expect a floor of about 40% for approval for any President whose Administration is not in a late stage of collapse as was so with Nixon just before he resigned or Dubya as the economy melted down -- and the ceiling for disapproval is around 60% -- which suggests the percentages of people intensely partisan for Republicans and Democrats, respectively.  It's not until one gets to the stage of hounds closing in on a crippled deer that approval drops well below 40% or disapproval gets well above 60%. 

Nobody has ever seen such in American history. Maybe in some other country, but not this one. Maybe we still believe in elections and the rule of law because we are Americans.

Polarization between supporters and foes of the president seems to have baked in now. There’s a solid 35% of approvers and 45% of disapprovers with the rest in the middle. Democrats need to find a way to reach out to that middle if they want to win the midterms.

It's all about turnout.  If we can light a fire underneath every Democrat in this country on November 6, I have news for the Republicans: it's going to be one of the most liberal electorates in history and there will be massive straight party ticket voting.  Every Republican dogcatcher in this country is going to be tied to Treasonous Toxic Trump.
