Devil's Advocate: The "Star Wars" ads in GA-06 were pretty stupid, and yet there's no Congressman Ossoff.

Personally, I always thought Ossoff's loss was moreso due to his shortcomings as a candidate and not the constant barrage of GOP mailers and TV spots.

The GOP tried the same scorched earth strategy in PA-18 and it didn't work on Lamb.

This has always been my take too.
I was not on Atlas during this race, but my take(though it is with foresight) is that this race was Karen adv. the whole time. We all forgot some of the fundamentals of the race
1. Karen was previously fricken Sec. of State
2. The district was suburban, and so, it was less elastic
3. Ossoff was just a poor candidate, a moderate fuzzball with nothing drive out turnout or appeal to the district, unlike Rob Quist, Lamb, or the other candidates so far. He also had a residency issue, which I cannot believe we had to deal with.
4. The money and media attention worked against us in the end, as the race became more nationalized and more of a race of D vs R, than Ossoff vs Handel
5. Trump was much more popular back then, relatively speaking, and the healthcare/tax cut debacles hadnt occurred yet.

The tide was against us, and we thought that just pouring money on the problem would fix it. Turns out you need some other factors to work in your favor as well.

Just cause someone hates rap does not mean it's racist SJWs, in fact there are plenty of rappers of all races. I hate most all rap because it sounds awful, much of it is highly offensive and odious, and it just sounds like absolute crap to my ears. It has nothing to do with being racist of which neither Mr. Faso or I am. I love Black contributions to the musical arts like R&B, Jazz, Reggae, and even some more classical compositions, as well as throughout many other genres with big names like Prince, Michael Jackson, Al Green, Chuck Berry, etc. Just because someone slams someone who happens to be a minority or something affiliated with a minority culture does not make them a racist. It is just a person or thing someone does not like that just so happens to be involved with a minority community. NOT EVERYTHING is racist, sexist, anti-semitic, etc. I especially found it funny when someone said the other day that Franken was treated as the outsider in the 2008 senate race in MN because he happened to be Jewish. Well so is Norm Coleman! Card backfired! That just proves a lot of far lefties play these stupid cards when they want to make attacks but lack sufficient substance, or feel as though playing a card would have a juicier impact.

Obviously, hating rap doesn't mean you're racist. It just means you have boring taste Tongue
Disliking rap is one thing. I don't like country, that doesn't mean I want everyone in Tennessee to lose their citizenship.

Calling it "not music" is a racist dogwhistle of the highest order and has been used to discredit black artists for as long as the genre has been around.

I think it would be problem.

While it doesn't look like Delgado has an issue as a rapper, rap in general, is racist, often against fellow minorities, quite degrading to women, and extremely violent.

The GOP has a good attack line, and if they don't shove it down people's throats every two seconds, Faso probably will be re-elected.

Of course, they'll probably overuse the rap line of attack...meaning they'll have nothing else to go on, and it's not like Democrats have nothing on Faso.

Even though handicappers have this district rated as highly competitive, it won't be. Cuomo struggles in upstate. Faso is safe.

Dude, you really need to grow the  up. What is it with you and acting like all of your opinions are objective and undeniable fact? Just because you don't like a popular thing doesn't mean you have to discredit it and act like anybody that likes it or creates it is wildly offensive.

This has nothing to do with Cuomo, he's not going to have some bizarre reverse coattails. Faso is most certainly not safe in an R+2 district against a strong candidate in this kind of environment.

Hating rap isn't inherently racist. Saying that having been a rapper 10 years ago disqualifies you from holding office is racist. Saying that Anthony Delgado "isn't one of us" because he was a rapper (which is the essence of what the professor said) is a very obvious racist dogwhistle.
