With the help of Senator Not_Madigan and Governor AZ I would like to present this plan to create a better dialogue on gun control and hopefully create a better solution to the members of the assembly.

1. To host an open meeting on Atlas in which all citizens of Lincoln are invited to participate. All citizens can share their suggestions and have questions answered by our officeholders.
2. To hold a special session of the assembly with the goal of creating a new and improved firearms safety bill for Lincoln. This would be a required session for members of the assembly and the governor (unless special conditions do not permit) and sitting members of congress from Lincoln would be invited to attend.

I would like to hear the thoughts of the members of the assembly on this plan and I would like to know what times would work for everyone if we decide to go through with this. If we agree to do this it can be made official through executive order.

I’d support such an idea.

I think this is a good idea. However, I already negotiated a deal that would fix that poorly drafted gun control bill as well as implement some other policies regarding healthcare reform, the budget, and law enforcement by the time the term ends.

Sounds like part of the publicly posted scheme to "filibuster" this issue until new legislators are chosen.

Not at all, our goal is to bring us all together and settle our differences to make a reasonable bill that works for us all. Everyone running for assembly is an incumbent anyway.

I hope you are right. I found the below exchange troubling, and not just because it calls for throwing me in jail for exercising a right.

This screenshot is Deeply Disturbing indeed! Apparently PUP is coordinating in a cynical attempt to lock up law-abiding gun owners at any cost while emptying the jails of dangerous drug junkies and elderly serial killers! Guess what, if you all want to play dirty like this, then I will not allow any damn special session on guns under my watch.

We are trying to bring everyone to their senses and end the partisanship, mudslinging, and stagnation by having an organized discussion which includes all viewpoints so that we can create a bill which better represents us all. I am highly disappointed in Mr. Reactionary for attempting to curb our efforts at cooperation (though I'm not sure who shared this originally) and I will be equally disappointed in speaker LT if he inhibits our ability to work together because of our previous disagreements. I hope that we can see beyond the past and get something done about this.

I mean, is it really surprising I oppose someone wanting to lock me up? Weve been eliminating tons of dumb crimes and making sentencing fairer and now all of a sudden there is a regressive call for putting me in jail if I ever plan a weekend sport shooting trip in the UP with my friend Mr. Bullocks. The law on the books in Lincoln is very regressive and injurious to our constitutional rights. Repealing it will not prevent future reforms yall might agree on; it just prevents injury to the citizens of Lincoln from the current monstrosity while you figure it out.

My issue is not with your own viewpoints on firearm legislation, but rather with the fact that the posts made have the potential to completely derail the process of creating better legislation .

If you want to be disappointed in anyone, I suggest looking no further than your own running mate.

Why should I go out of my way to cooperate with you all, if some of our key parties including your own running mate in your presidential campaign refuse to come to the negotiating table in good honest faith.

Coming to the negotiating table is exactly what we are doing, and now you are backing away.

But PUP obviously isn't coming to the table in honest good faith.

Indeed we are, we all wish to negotiate a new bill with our peers. Any opposition to a repeal with no replacement doesn't change this.

IMO better legislation is repealing the bad law.

Look I appoligize for that statement but I had already decided to put aside my filibuster plan to negotiate a deal in good faith. Unfortunately if you want to go leak private stuff from our party chat then it's hard to reach a deal.

I don't honestly care if you agree with me or not on guns all I ask is you respect my position on it and realize I'm doing it because I believe it's the best course for atlasia not because of some weird fetish hate for gun owners.

I see one (1) single person in that screenshot talking about what you say all of PUP is talking about. I don't think we should call off the meeting. (Also perhaps LT shouldn't call people locked up for nonviolent offenses "dangerous drug junkies." That's a minor nitpick but he should know better.)
