In this TL, the United States, in 1977, passes a law to move to a two round Presidential Election system, and Ron Reagan becomes the first President to be elected in 1980.

The parties in the new America is as follows:

New Democratic Party: After the Old Democratic Party split, this new party was formed. This party is the center-left of the “Left Wing” parties.

Leader: Barack Obama (retiring in 2016)
Deputy Leader: Joe Biden (retiring in 2016)

America First Party: This party was founded in 2015 by Donald Trump in order to secure a way into the Presidential election. It is a center-right party.

Leader: Donald Trump (running for President)
Deputy Leader: Jeff Sessions

Tea Party: This party is made up of some Libertarians and many right wing Conservatives. It is the far right party.

Leader and Deputy Leader: None (up for election along with President)
Interim Leader: Mitch McConnell

Conservative Party: This moderate party contains many center left and center right politicians. It is the moderate US party despite its name.

Leader: Joe Manchin (running for Pres and reelection)
Deputy Leader: Susan Collins

Progressive Party: The other party that was formed after the split, This is the far left US party.

Leader: Elizabeth Warren (not running for President)
Deputy Leader: Jerry Brown

This election season seems poised to change the country, so let’s meet the nominees.

New Democratic Party

Being a very vocal politician in the party, Pelosi did not decide to run many times before. This time, with the rise of America First, she has decided to run and won the nomination.

America First Party

The Leader of the party made himself the nominee back in 2015, and has rose high in the polls down the final stretch towards the first round.

Tea Party

The rise of Ted Cruz in the Tea Party has led him to win the nomination for President. His goal is to separate himself from the America First party.

Conservative Party

Joe Manchin has been nominated. The Conservative Party felt they had a better path to victory with liberal voters than with Conservative voters.

Progressive Party

Russ Feingold won a grueling primary vs Tulsi Gabbard and Liz Warren. His goal is to win Liberals away from Pelosi.

Poll:
Nancy Pelosi: 22%
Donald Trump: 20%
Ted Cruz: 17%
Joe Manchin: 16%
Russ Feingold: 12%
Undecided: 13%
