Rep. Evan Jenkins, a Republican who lost the nomination to face Joe Manchin in West Virginia's Senate race, may have a sooner than expected political comeback with the resignation of a member of the State Supreme Court. Jenkins has publicly acknowledged his potential interest in running in a special election which will be held in November to fill the remaining two years of the term, and candidates have a few more weeks to file.

For people who have a better understanding of West Virginia politics than I do: Does Evan Jenkins run? And if he does, is he the frontrunner/does he stand a good chance?

To me, it seems like this is a good opportunity to reenter politics shortly after a defeat. If Jenkins wants to be back in office, this may be the best way to do that.

The sheer amount of clown candidates the GOP has put up this election year is astounding

Hope he does run, that way he'll be less likely to challenge Ojeda come 2020. Wink

There were rumors before the primary was over that he would run for a judicial office if he lost the primary. Not surprised at all.

I hope he does it, that way he won't be in play for any serious offices at least any time soon.
