He's an icon of American politics, is and has been a great governor and truly a fine would-have-been president. Can't actually believe he's that old. I hope he remains involved beyond the end of his term coming January. Happy birthday, Mr. California and massive FF.

At least of term-limits for life. But I guess I wouldn't run again, even if it was possible. Gavin Newsom will be a worthy successor, assuming he is elected (what seems likely).

Yes, in fact. I never understood why he didn't go after Hillary's ethical shortcomings and her baggage. I'm not a big fan of Bernard (even less so of Clintons), but I always felt that he missed an opportunity. I'm not sure whether that cost him the nomination in the end, but I would have done it in his position.

I was proud to have voted for him in the 1992 Democratic Primary for President, and he would have been a better President than Bill Clinton.
